Christmas Caroling
Our annual night of caroling is coming up on December 2nd. We’ll visit several people in Clay Center, the Leonardville nursing home, and many around the area of the church, then have dinner in Riley at Gambino’s. We’d love to bless those we visit with cookies, so please bring a dozen by that Sunday morning so we can get them packed up!
Cookies and Carols is back! Sunday afternoon, December 2nd, at 3pm we’ll be decorating cookies and making crafts with the kids before we go caroling. Join us for this fun time, sharing Christmas joy with others.
Christmas Program
December 9th is our Christmas Program! That morning youth of all ages will perform a program for us, afterward we will have refreshments and a time of fellowship. Last name A – L bring a finger food, M-W bring a sweet treat!
Best Choice Labels
The Covenant Women are collecting the Best Choice labels again. If anyone wishes to contribute to this please give them to Venita Rosenow, Terry Peterson or Evelyn Larson. We need them by December to be sent in.
UPDATE from the Food Pantry in Northern Riley County ……
On Saturday November 17th, 35 families were blessed with a Thanksgiving basket full of food. The families are given a choice of either ham or turkey for their Thanksgiving meal. Some of the other items that they get in their Thanksgiving basket is: stuffing, cranberry sauce, canned yams, canned vegetables, jello, fruit cocktail, mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, pumpkin and etc.
November 3rd, we did a record number of families – 22 with 66 individuals in those families. Our previous record number was after the ice storm when we had 21 families with 72 individuals. We were recently given 300 pounds of venison. God continues to bless this mission everyday even though it is getting very hard to keep food on the pantry shelves, but our baskets of blessings continue to overflow. Thank you for your food donation to the Food Pantry.
Church Membership
If you are interested in joining our church, instructions and applications can be picked up in the church office. They are located on the wall in the church office.
Bibles
Study Bibles are available for those who do not have a Bible of their own. You may pick one up at the Welcome Center. The Bibles are provided as a gift to you.
Missionary Update: Victory Village
Our mission is to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus. Inspired by His gospel, we seek to make Gods amazing love and compassion real to wounded teenage girls, serving them without charge to their families by providing a clean and safe home, a good education, nutritious meals, training in life skills, outdoor and indoor activities and sports, opportunities to be involved in the ministry of helping others and an introduction to Jesus, who will love them forever. We affirm the worth of all without prejudice, partiality or intimidation.
Here is a list of some things the facility is needing if you feel led to give:
- New (to them) gym basketball goals
- Chair cart (for gym chairs)
- Trash bags (39, 13 & 4 gallon)
- Toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, comet, spic n span,
- liquid laundry detergent
- Wood working tools
- Money/gift cards to buy each girl their own bible
- Electric roaster, electric griddle
