Josh & Kaci Goff were blessed with a daughter, Elsie Faye, March 7. Congratulations to them and Grandpa Kelley Brenner!
The Covenant Church in Washington, KS is inviting men to their facility to help hang the drywall on the entire building, this Saturday, March 17. Volunteers who intend to help with this project need to bring screw guns and any other preferred drywall tools. They are not taping and mudding, just hanging the sheetrock. They plan to stay till the project is done on Saturday.
Safety & Security Team initial meeting will take place immediately after church services March 18th. Anyone interested (or would like to know more about the new ministry) is encouraged to attend.
Needed: Two individuals to volunteer their time at the Food Pantry in Riley on Saturday morning, March 24th from 10 to 12. Contact Karen Rundquist (karen.rundquist@gmail.com) if you can help. (There will be more opportunities in May to volunteer.)
The younger adult Sunday School is finishing up the study on priorities and will be doing a short study the next few weeks on preparing our hearts for Holy Week and the celebration of Easter. We’ll begin a new study after the holiday.
Covenant Cedars Work Days
Give Your Time, Build His Kingdom
Covenant Cedars Bible Camp offers a weekend opportunity for our church to serve together as they prepare camp for the summer. Covenant Cedars provides free lodging and meals to volunteer groups. “There will also be devotions and worship led by the staff of Covenant Cedars. Man does not live on bread alone, and spiritual development is a huge part of our volunteer weekends. Join us for a weekend of spiritual renewal in building His kingdom.”
Please speak with Andy Sedlacek if you feel led to go help at Covenant Cedars.
Possible dates: April 13-14, April 27-28. Rough itinerary: leave on Friday night, work all day Saturday and return home Saturday night.
Shoe Box Ideas
Just a couple of ideas as you’re out shopping:
March is crafts month. (sewing kits, yarn, small projects)
Also, this is a good time of year to keep an eye out for winter sale items such as gloves and hats.
Women’s Encounter
Women’s Encounter can be described as a weekend where women encounter Christ in ways that are perhaps new or long since felt. Through teaching, testimonies, and worship we’ll dive deep into what it means to be a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. You’ll learn more about yourself, the body of believers around you, and most importantly, the God who created you. Get to know the sisters you have in the Lord and the community that awaits you. Whether your relationship is new or old, this weekend will be a blessing. Plan to attend
March 16-18, 2018. Register at www.encounterthecross.com/women.
Alert Road Race
The 20th Annual Alert Road Race will be Saturday, June 16th. Save the date!!! There will be registration forms in the office for anyone interested in competing or for you to hand out to friends, family members, etc. who might be interested as well.
