A Call to Serve Communities
"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10 NASB)
We are called to reflect the love of God by making a contribution to this world. Motivated by Christ and His love for the children, Alert Covenant Church encourages those who are called to serve to use their talents in the ministry.
If you feel that your calling is in working with and helping children, teenagers, and women nurture a close, spiritual bond with Christ, contact us and volunteer for our church ministries in Leonardville, KS. There’s no better way to fulfill your desire to serve and spread the Gospel.
Growing In Christ Through Service
The Lord designed every person to make a difference in other people’s lives and impact those around them.
As Ephesians 2:10b says: “ . . . In our union with Christ Jesus He has created us for a life of good deeds, which He has already prepared for us to do.” In this sense, “good deeds” are your service to others.
Whenever you serve people, you’re doing more than sharing your time, assistance, and care. You are serving the Lord and fulfilling His great commission in your life.
Serving in the church is not only limited to pastors and professional clergy. God calls members of His family to minister and serve others. The words “minister” and “servant,” in the bible, are synonyms—the same applies to serving in the ministry.
If you are a Christian, you are a minister to others.
Alert Covenant Church strives to help its members grow by encouraging them to serve the church through ministry. The Lord has blessed us with many talents and skills, and these give each of us a distinct capability to serve. You may share the same skill as someone else, but how you use it in the service of the Lord is uniquely your own.
By serving and putting others before ourselves, we are fulfilling what Jesus Christ calls us to do. We encourage everyone to grow in love and servitude.

Jesus told the disciples to let the little children come to Him. Today, the mission remains the same: we are to care for these blessings and bring them closer to God. It is easier to share the Gospel to children. Become a part of a child’s formative years by teaching Christ through Sunday schools, Vacation Bible School, and other activities. Engage in lessons and meaningful play while fulfilling the Great Commission by serving the children.
Today’s teens are faced with a variety of serious issues. It’s our goal to challenge and equip our students with the truth of the gospel so they have a framework for faces these challenges. When you volunteer at our youth ministry, you can minister to middle school and high school kids by sharing the Gospel, teaching Bible-based lessons, and building relationships through meaningful projects and fun activities.
Women need other women to grow in the faith. We invite you to grow in this ministry. It doesn’t matter if you are married or single; everyone needs guidance in an encouraging environment. Women’s Ministries at Alert offer specific opportunities for women to have fellowship and grow together with other women, encouraging relationships across the generations.
