Clay County for Life is hosting the annual Life Chain event on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026, starting at 2:00 pm until 3:30 pm. Participants should meet at the First Baptist Church for a time of prayer and instructions. Signs will be provided and participants may bring lawn chairs. We will walk to the intersections of highways 15 and 24 and stand to protect life from the miracle of fertilization to the spiritual serenity of natural death. Name Change Committee
At the last quarterly meeting, a committee was established to review and recommend new names for our church. The committee is requesting members submit their requests by Tuesday, Sept. 29th. Requests can be submitted via email to Travis Stumpff at ihc996@yahoo.com. Paper request may be dropped off with Pastor Dwight or in the secretary’s office. The committee is meeting on Wednesday to review all the requests.
Riley County Community Gathering will be held October 16th from 12:00-1:00pm at Manhattan Public Library in Groesbeck Room. This will be to learn how we can work together with local child welfare agencies to help vulnerable children and families right here in Riley County. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about how we can partner with our local community, support families in need, and make a meaningful difference together. A light lunch will be served. Operation Christmas Child
This year we will continue with Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child. The shoe boxes will be provided by the church. Those wishing to participate will pick up a box from the church, fill the box at home, and return by the designated date. Note: Because each individual/family will be filling the boxes, the church will no longer except donated items to fill the boxes.
Hayrack Ride & Hot Dog Roast Will be held following Sunday school on Oct. 11th. Hot Dogs and Some mores will be provided by the church. The congregation is asked to bring finger foods/sides/desserts to share.
