Prayer Ministry

We are taking a new approach to praying for our church families. We are replacing the Prayer Guide with this prayer reminder. Please pray as you are led by the Holy Spirit this week for: Nick, Sara & Scout Tarpoff and Mike, April, Reika & Stevie Tate.

 

Julotta

Julotta is our annual Christmas service held at 6:00 a.m. on Christmas Day. It is a delightful service with lots of music and a Christmas monologue. Please plan to join us!

 

150th Anniversary

In October of 2024, Alert Covenant Church will be celebrating our 150th Anniversary. Presently a planning committee is being formed. If you would like to be a part of this planning committee, please tell Pastor Dwight.

 

Church in Ministry lists

The end of the year is FAST approaching, and I will begin working on the first quarter church in ministry lists. These lists include greeters, nursery, scripture reading and candlelighters (Kindergarteners thru 5th graders). All these parts are a vital part of keeping our church moving. Christmas Caroling & Cookies

Please join us for a night of caroling on Saturday, December 9th at 4:00 p.m. While we carol, we deliver cookie plates, but we need your cookies. If everyone could bring 1 dozen cookies for the cookie plates to church before 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon, we will plate everything before breaking into groups to go carol in the different communities. We will meet back at the church following caroling for pizza and fellowship.

If you did not get one this past Sunday, the Family Advent Devotional is available in the foyer this morning.  With them are small bags of tea lights to represent the words of Advent.  The readings begin on December 1st. We ask that you take one per household.

Alert Church Family Christmas Celebration

December 3 at 11 a.m.

Join us for an informal celebration of the season featuring our church kids. Bells, a nativity scene, and more will be a part of our family gathering.  Following the celebration, we will join in a potluck finger food lunch and a chance for the kids to create an ornament to decorate the basement Christmas tree.  We are asking families whose last name starts with letters A-M to bring a sweet snack/finger food and the families whose last name starts with letters N-Z to bring a savory or salty snack/finger food. We look forward to you joining us!

 

Northern Riley County Food Pantry

Each Christmas season, the Northern Riley County Food Pantry gives a Christmas Food Basket to individuals who sign up for one, but they must reside in northern Riley County – outside of Manhattan city limits.

 

Individuals or Families can sign up at the Food Pantry (located in Riley) either Saturday, December 2 or December 9 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

 

If you would like to donate some items for the basket, listed below are some suggestions:

 

Corn – Green Beans – Fruit Cocktail – Another Can of Fruit

Boxed Mashed Potatoes – Stuffing – Macaroni and Cheese

Cream of Mushroom Soup – Cream of Chicken Soup

Pumpkin Pie Filling – Cranberry Sauce – Canned Yams

Hamburger Helper – Pie Filling – Pork ‘n’ Beans

 

Your donations may be placed in the lime green tote which is located in the coat rack area or in the basket located inside the south Fellowship Hall door.
