GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Thank You

Words cannot adequately express how grateful we feel to live in this community. The past few months have been some of the hardest that our family has gone through. All the prayers, kind words, meals, groceries, cards and financial support have been amazing and deeply appreciated. It is a relief to know that we are surrounded by such caring and generous people who have lifted us up through such a trying time. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

The Jacob Speicher Family

Your Invited

Sharp’s Short Stop is inviting people from the community who do not have a place to go for Thanksgiving to stop by for a Thanksgiving Meal. There is no charge, but if you are able to bring a dish to share it is welcome. Walk-ins welcome the day of, but if plan to come, please sign up at Short Stop. Serving begins at 11:45 November 25th.

Worship Team Volunteer Needed

We would like to schedule the position for slides each week along with the worship team rotation.  This person is responsible for coming to the worship practice before church on Sunday morning and running slides during the worship service.  This position would be on a rotation so you wouldn’t have to do it every week. If you are interested in running slides for the worship service, please contact Kara Bergsten (785-632-0150). If you currently volunteer and want to continue serving, please contact Kara as well. We greatly appreciate our current volunteers and would love for you to keep serving. Also, we are happy to train new volunteers as well!

Children’s Christmas Program

The program will be on Sunday, December 12th, and we will have a dress rehearsal the night before on Saturday, December 11th. If this is something your child is interested in participating in, practices have begun and will be held during church service following special music.

Seasonal Cards

Venita will be picking up the card order today in the foyer so if you are interested in ordering cards, put your order in.

Families are needed!

We need families to sign-up for the Adopt-A-Family Christmas gift program. We have lots of individuals who want to purchase gifts for these families, but we are lacking in families. The family must reside in northern Riley County (outside of Manhattan limits). If you know of any families who might benefit from this, please share this information with them. To sign for the Adopt-A-Family Christmas gift program, either call Roxanne Klocke at 785-313-0764 or Charlotte Olsen, 785-313-2913 or go to the Food Basket (located in Riley) on Saturdays between the hours of 10:00 to 12:00 noon.

THANK YOU for your donation of food items so that we can fill the Thanksgiving Baskets.  In past years, we have prepared 25 baskets. In each basket, the family gets their choice of either a turkey or ham plus homemade dinner rolls and the items you donated. Many thanks for supporting this ministry!                  Northern Riley County Food Basket

Keepers of the Faith for Girls

“It combines both spiritual and practical skills as a complete unit since there is really no difference between the secular and the sacred in the daily walk of a Christian. “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” —1 Corinthians 10:31. The purpose of this ministry is to guide and train young people to walk in the steps of our Lord Jesus Christ, day by day and moment by moment, in every situation. Jesus came to earth to complete the work God had given Him.” For more information about this group, please visit with Jenni Perry.

Benefit Pancake Feed for the Speicher Family

Saturday, November 6th 5- 8 p.m.

Two months ago, COVID struck the Speicher family- Jake, Amber, Ezra (11), Quinn (5), and Ozzy (2). Jake was hit the worst. He spent 3 weeks in the hospital with post-COVID pneumonia and continues to battle the effects of the illness, still not able to return to work. During Jake’s recovery time out of the hospital, Amber learned that both her sister and brother-in-law died unexpectedly. They lived in Denver and have two teenage children. Let’s pour out blessings on this family as they face lost wages through the fight and recovery of COVID and unexpected travel expenses to Denver.

Baby Shower

Please join us Saturday, Nov 6th at 9:30 a.m., for a baby shower celebrating with Irma Linhardt the birth of Ambrose Joy.  Irma is registered at Amazon. Diapers, wipes, books, or Target gift cards also appreciated.
