Victory Village

The director was thrilled with the boxes for Victory Village! Thank you to everyone who put together a box. Please remember to be in prayer for the girls throughout the year to the end of May.  Also, there will be a banquet February 13th to celebrate Victory Village’s 50th year in 2020 if anybody wants to attend. The address to write the girls letters: Victory Village, PO Box 20068 Hutchinson, Kansas 67504 and write the girl’s name in care of. Make sure to put Alert Covenant Church underneath your name in the return address line because they do have to screen the girls mail.

T-Shirts

If you are interested in ordering a t-shirt like the t-shirts designed for the Mexico Mission team, please visit with Rose Linhardt. This is a fundraiser for the mission trip coming up in the summer of 2020.

Julotta is our annual Christmas service held at 6:00 a.m. on Christmas Day. It is a delightful service with lots of music and a Christmas monologue by Pastor Dwight. Please plan to join us! If you would like to sing or play a special number, please let Pastor Dwight know of your desire.

Christmas Caroling

For the Christmas Caroling we will divide the participants into two groups. One group will drive to Clay Center to carol at the homes of some of our members and then at the Nursing Home facilities, and the second group will make some stops at homes, Leonardville Nursing Home and Autumn Hills.

Christmas Program

December 15^th is our Christmas Program! That morning, youth of all ages will perform a program for us, afterward we will have refreshments and a time of fellowship. Last name A – L bring a finger food, M-W bring a sweet treat!

With the end of the year fast approaching, Randi would like to get a jump start on lists for our church in ministry.  The lists include: Greeters, Nursery, Scripture reading, children’s sermon & children’s church, candle lighters, and ushers. In the foyer, you can find a short form to fill out to update your contact information and indicate what lists you would like to be on.

We’ll visit several people in Clay Center, the Leonardville nursing home, and many around the area of the church, then have dinner in Riley at Gambino’s. We’d love to bless those we visit with cookies, so please bring a dozen by that Sunday morning so we can get them packed up!

Sunday afternoon, December 8^th at 3pm we’ll be making crafts with the kids before we go caroling. Join us for this fun time, sharing Christmas joy with others.

All kids from 1^st thru 6^th grade who can be in the Christmas program on December 15^th will be dismissed after the Children’s Sermon for practice today.

Join us for our annual cookie exchange! Saturday, December 7th at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Please bring: 6 dozen cookies or candy (all the same recipe), a copy of the recipe, a container for the cookies you will take home, and a brunch food or appetizer. 6 of your cookies will go to the Manhattan Emergency Shelter! Bibles

Study Bibles are available for those who do not have a Bible of their own. You may pick one up at the Welcome Center. The Bibles are provided as a gift to you.

Offerfest

TONIGHT we are bringing back an old tradition: Offerfest! Join us TONIGHT as we celebrate all that God is doing in our church and in the world. We will welcome inmates from the Ellsworth Correctional Facility, who will provide powerful testimony of God’s work in their hearts. We will have a potluck meal beforehand so please plan on bringing a dish.

Dear Congregation,

It was a special birthday for me this year as so many of you wished me a happy birthday through cards, gifts, and words. Thank you for blessing me on my birthday.

 On Saturday, October 19th – the Food Pantry located in Riley was very busy.  There were 20 families with a total of 66 people who picked up food that day which is one of the largest Saturdays in which food needs were

met.  If you would like to donate food items – here are some suggestions:

– Saltine Crackers                                                                                      – Brownie mix – Chicken Noodle Soup                                                         – Cream of Chicken Soup                 – Peanut Butter (both crunchy and smooth)                                       – Rice-a-Roni                                                                                    – Hamburger Helper                                                           – Canned Pasta with meat                                                                      – Egg Noodles                                                          – Instant mashed potatoes                                      – any non-perishable items

For your donation convenience, there are 2 locations to leave your donation.  Lime green tote by the coat rack in the main sanctuary area OR a basket is located by the south entrance to the Fellowship Hall.
