Financial Peace University

If you have any interest in attending a Financial Peace University course taught by Dave Ramsey and his daughter which would be offered here at Alert online, would you let Pastor Dwight know of your interest in attending. If we have enough interest, we will probably offer the course this fall.

 VBS Registration

SCUBA music is here!  We have CD’s and streaming codes available for you to have to help your kids get psyched for VBS!  If you have children attending VBS, please feel to help yourself to either a CD or postcard with a code.  Just sign on the clipboard at the table so I know who has received on and ENOY!

 

SCUBA donation table is also here!  So many have asked how you can help, here’s your chance!  Just grab a fish or two or three and purchase the desired items. There will be a basket or box available starting next Sunday to accept your donations. Thanks so very much!

Children’s Church To allow our volunteers a chance for a break this summer, we will not be holding Children’s Church during the months June, July, and August.

Jesus said “Let the little children come to Me.”  Matthew 19:14 It’s good and important that you include your children in the worship service.  They learn to pray, sing, read scripture and listen to teaching by your example!

-Don’t be discouraged by squirms and noises.  Correct them, yes, but don’t feel that it makes you unwelcome – this is how they learn!  We understand that raising children in the instruction and training of the Lord requires persistence, consistency, and a lot of correction – be encouraged that others are praying for you as you teach your children to revere the Lord.

-Sit near the front:  there are fewer distractions, and they can see what’s going on!  That makes it much easier for children to engage in the service.

-Keep a special “church” bag that has a quiet toy, coloring, or other favorite item that is only available to them on Sundays during a church service.

As always, there will also be coloring pages available in the foyer as well.  Thank you for your understanding!

Covenant Cedars Bible Camp Registration

This year, the church is asking that families pay the deposit for each camper attending and the church will cover the remaining balance.  You will need to register online. (www.Cedars.org)  Early bird registration is now past and the cost  increases another $15 after June 1.  With numerous kids attending, this adds up quickly.  The deposit is non-refundable!

 

Church Representative for Northern Riley County Food Basket Board

At the end of February 2025, Karen Rundquist will no longer be the Alert Covenant Church representative to the Northern Riley County Food Basket Board.  If you would like to be involved with this ministry and be our church representative, please contact Karen Rundquist, karen.rundquist@gmail.com You would be very welcome to attend the board meetings and find out more about the food basket.  Our next board meeting is Tuesday, April 16th.

Stones Cry

We welcome Joel Finnesgard and his family to Alert this morning. Stones Cry is a family worship team consisting of Joel, June, Joy and Josiah. They travel across the nation sharing inspirational and contemporary Christian music in a wide variety of venues and settings including churches, schools, and RV parks.

Camp L.I.T. Mandatory Volunteer Training

We welcome you to attend our next volunteer training on Saturday, April 13th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. @ Rockhills Church (2610 Farm Bureau Rd.; Manhattan). You can attend training and then decide if you would like to be a volunteer at any Camp L.I.T. camps BUT we need for you to sign up for the training at https://form.jotform.com.  Breakfast and lunch will be provided. More information is on the Camp L.I.T. website – www.camplit.org.

Camp L.I.T. camp dates are:

* Girls Camp:  June 20 – June 23  (ages 12-15)

* Boys Camp:  July 11 – July 14     (ages 12-15)

* COED Camp:  July 25 – July 28   (ages 16-18)
