Financial Peace University

If you have any interest in attending a Financial Peace University course taught by Dave Ramsey and his daughter which would be offered here at Alert online, would you let Pastor Dwight know of your interest in attending. If we have enough interest, we will probably offer the course this fall.

 COVENANT CEDARS BIBLE CAMP REGISTATION

Early Bird Registration for Covenant Cedars Bible Camp is now open.  This year, the church is asking that families pay the deposit for each camper attending and the church will cover the remaining balance.  You will need to register online. (www.Cedars.org)  If you already know your child is attending, please register before April 1 as the amount due goes up $20 after this date and up another $15 after June 1.  With numerous kids attending, this adds up quickly.  The deposit is non-refundable!

Bibles

Study Bibles are available for those who do not have a Bible of their own. You may pick one up at the Welcome Center. The Bibles are provided as a gift to you.

If you have interest in learning more about our upcoming trip to Nicolas Romero, please join us on February 21 as some of the members of last year’s team will be present to help answer questions and share what can be expected when going on a mission trip to Mexico.

Clay Center Wesleyan is hosting an event called IF: Gathering Women’s Conference on February 23 – 24. Speakers include Jennie Allen, Christine Cain, Toni Collier, and many others. Plans and Preparations are underway for the Alert Road Race, so please be in prayer!  The set date of June 22, 2024, will be here before we know it! Sponsor support is critical to the success of this event, and I will be reaching out to the compiled list of past sponsors soon to see if you would, once again, like to be a featured sponsor for the event!  We would also welcome any new sponsorship as well!  Should you feel led to donate to the Road Race, please reach out to me or include your donation in the offering with a note indicating “Alert Road Race”.  Also, I may not have a complete sponsor list, so if you do not hear from me, please feel free to reach out!  I will also be seeking volunteers to help on Race Day, so stay tuned for more details.

If you would like to donate towards the Camp L.I.T. Taco Fundraiser on February 17 at the Leonardville Community Center.  We need either brownies, rice Krispie treats or cookies.  We ask that you individually pre-package your donation items.

In the pre-packaging, please put 1 brownie or rice Krispie treat per individual packaging.  For cookies, we ask that you put 2 cookies per individual packing.

Our Community Food Basket Serving Northern Riley County

There are two areas where your donation can be left – –

1) Basket just inside of the south door of the Fellowship Hall 2) Coat area near the sanctuary in the lime green tote

 

Church Representative for the Northern Riley County Food Pantry

Here is what it would involve:

– Attend the quarterly meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. in Riley.

– Be in charge of the month of February in finding 2 volunteers plus yourself to “man” the food pantry every Saturday in February from 10 to 12.

– Willing to purchase groceries for the food pantry (you would be reimbursed) several times during the year.

– At least a 2 year commitment on the board but many more years on the board is welcome.
