GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Camp L.I.T. Needs

If anyone feels led to help Camp L.I.T., they are in need of 50 beach size towels for the pool, gently used or new, 10 pillows and pillowcases for each.  All items need to be at the church by July 13th, as camp starts on July 14th.  Money gifts accepted as well.  Items can be placed in the foyer by the Emergency Shelter tote and will be picked up.   Any questions contact Donna Rundquist.

New Wednesday Evening Study

In the Gospel, Jesus asks 307 questions, is asked 183 questions, and gives direct answers to only 8 to those. Jesus preferred to ask questions rather than answer them directly. You could even argue that he asks the question that should have been asked in the first place. It is the questions Jesus asks that have particular power to engage us. They can evoke something in us, even today. Join us on Wednesday evenings beginning July 14th, as we explore 9 of the more powerful questions he asks while he walked on this earth. 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall.

New Sunday School Class Begins Today “Detecting the Deceiver”

It is easy for us to see the visible evil in the world, but what about the unseen? The kind that most often takes us by surprise. This is the kind that is often the most dangerous, because it is simply not on our radar. It takes, prayer, wisdom, and discernment to detect how the enemy is at work in your life and in the world around you. Come to prepare for the fight and come to learn how to discern.

Vacation    Bible    School

Thanks so much to all of you who made Vacation Bible School possible this year.  Between the many volunteers that week (several of whom took off work to help!), those who prayed, those who donated items to help us make the stations extra special, those who invited and encouraged people to come, those who made sure the new playground was up and running, the sound system outside worked on Sunday, and all the way down to those who made sloppy joes for the Sunday party, it takes more than a village to do what we did.

It took a church!   You are all such a gift to the children in our church and our community and thank you so much for all you did.

The kids raised $1124.79 for our partner church in Nicolas Romero!  We also had a generous donation to allow each child to go home with a t-shirt.

If you know of any child who wasn’t here on that Friday, please let Pastor Stephanie know and she will make sure one gets to them.

For those of you who allowed us to borrow any items, please check with Pastor Stephanie about getting them back. Also, those who donated the black spray paint, the freezer paper, the black duct tape, and the potting soil – there is plenty left if you would like to take it home!

Several children received Christ as their Savior, so please pray for them as they step into their new life and grow as God’s children.

New Summer Bible Study

Why would God, who knows everything, ask human beings anything? To confront people with His grace and His holiness, to communicate with humanity and to invite people to be honest with Him and themselves. We see this in the questions he asks Adam and Eve, Joshua, Ezekiel and more. These are not just questions he asked, but questions we are to ask ourselves and consider now. Knowing the challenges of summer schedules, we have designed this to be a week-to-week study – perfect to do through the summer when life gets less predictable. Each Wednesday from 6:30 – 7:30pm (note the change in time!)
