Ginger – 405-593-2449

Camp L.I.T. (Living In Truth) will hold its first season of gender camps this summer.  These camps will be held at:    Camp Tomah Shinga – 5 miles south of Junction City on E. Lyons Creek Road.

  • Girls camp, July 29 – August 1 (volunteers report at 6 p.m. on the 28th)

Pick up a brochure on Camp L.I.T. located on the Welcome Center.

We have volunteered in the past and would be happy to visit with you about this great opportunity.

Payment methods are:  PayPal donations@CampLIT.org, Venmo@camp-LIT or a check made payable to “Camp LIT”.

What you need to know about Camp L.I.T?

*** Camp L.I.T. consists of 4-day gender camps for ages 12-15, a mentorship program, monthly and quarterly events for the teens to engage with their foster peers (not necessarily the same ones who come to camp).

*** Camp L.I.T. is structured differently, allowing us to hold more camps and serve more campers per camp.

*** Camp L.I.T is a faith-based organization and wants God to get all the Glory for any transformation these teens experience. We offer a character study from the Bible, journaling, which includes an applicable bible verse the campers are encouraged to memorize and receive recognition for doing so. Each camper is given the opportunity to pray at meals and at other times throughout camp.  Because these foster teens are considered wards of the state, we cannot proselytize, give an altarcall, lay on of hands, baptize or sprinkle.  However, we weave the theme of the bible character study in every activity we do, keeping talk of God’s grace and mercy top of mind, so if the camper asks questions about Jesus Christ, then we take that opportunity to share the gospel.

*** Camp L.I.T.’s  goal this summer is to host 48 campers, 24 per gender in 2 camps.  The cost to house, feed, provide a Teen Bible, transportation, t-shirts, toiletries, sling backpacks, arts and crafts supplies, board and card games, canoeing, music, archery, challenge course facilitation, swimming, paint ball, gaga ball, name badges, lanyards, awards, refillable personal water bottles, extra bedding (sleeping bags or sheet sets, pillows and blankets), printing of journals, schedules, volunteer training materials, bug spray, first aid items, sunscreen, photo albums, photo printing and miscellaneous items campers may forget to bring, lodging and meals for 32 volunteers per camp is $30,000.  That cost is $625 per camper.

*** Volunteers must be 21 years or older and complete the 8 hour training.  Next training is on Saturday, June 5th.  To sign up for the training, contact Kim or Ginger Vass.

Kim – 405-410-7370, Ginger – 405-593-2449

New Summer Bible Study

Why would God, who knows everything, ask human beings anything? To confront people with His grace and His holiness, to communicate with humanity and to invite people to be honest with Him and themselves. We see this in the questions he asks Adam and Eve, Joshua, Ezekiel and more. These are not just questions he asked, but questions we are to ask ourselves and consider now. Knowing the challenges of summer schedules, we have designed this to be a week-to-week study – perfect to do through the summer when life gets less predictable. Each Wednesday from 6:30 – 7:30pm (note the change in time!)

Kids Asking About Communion?

Pastor Stephanie went live on Facebook, Thursday, April 1st to talk about the last week of Jesus’ life on earth, specifically focusing on communion. If you are not sure if your kids are ready to take communion yet, this is a great resource for them to watch and begin their understanding of what communion is, why we practice it, and who should participate. Pastor Stephanie also has some great resources to help you talk to your kids to find out if they are ready to take communion or not, so talk with her if you are interested in these.

Experiencing God’s Presence

Covenant Women Coffee & Conversation

We all experience God differently, and sometimes we may wonder if we are “doing” it right. So, let’s talk about that.

Join us Saturday, April 24th at 9 a.m. for Covenant Women’s first Coffee and Conversation of 2021 – where a panel of women from all walks of life with share their experiences in how they connect with God – in expected and unexpected ways. And even what they do when he feels silent. Coffee and Panera will be there, of course.  Childcare WILL be provided!

Your Divine Design – New Adult Class

God uniquely shaped you, different from anybody else in the world, for a purpose. And that purpose is to build up the Church and to serve others. (Ephesians 4:11-16) But what does that service look like? It is a combination of the gifts God has given you, the passion that’s in your heart, the experiences put in your path, and the abilities you’ve been given. From April 11th – 25th, we’ll:

-identify the passions, abilities, and experiences that have shaped you for God’s purpose.

-help you understand the gifts God has given you and how they may be used

-look at what the Scripture says about how your gifts are to be used in the Body of Christ, and to watch for how these gifts can be abused

Church Membership

If you are interested in joining our church, instructions and applications can be picked up in the church office.  They are located on the wall in the church office.

Cards

If you are interested in purchasing cards, the catalogs are on a table in the foyer.  Venita will be collecting the order forms April 18th or 25th so have your orders in by one of those dates. Thanks!
