BABY BOTTLE PROJECT

Kansans for Life encourages churches to participate in their annual fund-raising project which helps fund educating the public on the reality of abortion and strives to promote pro-life causes across the state of Kansas. If you would like to participate, please pick up a baby bottle today and fill it with change and then return the bottle on Father’s Day.

 

CAREPORTAL

Recently our congregation voted in favor of participating with an organization that helps meet the basic material needs of families by working in partnership with local churches. Debbie Sump has agreed to be our church representative, but we would also like to form a small committee to help with this ministry. If you have a heart for helping people in need and would like to learn more about how you could be involved, there is a training scheduled for Tuesday, May 20^th at 6:00 p.m. at the Riley Presbyterian Church.

 

Bibles: Study Bibles are available for those who do not have a Bible of their own. You may pick one up at the Welcome Center. The Bibles are provided as a gift to you.

 

VBS Volunteers: I am still looking for a couple of people who could come at 8:30 to monitor the playground. If you could help with this, please let LuAnn know soon! 

 

VBS REGISTRATION is open!  Parents, sign your kids up by grabbing a postcard off the table and using the QR code, or go to: vbspro.events/p/7fb8f8.  It sure helps us plan when kids get registered early!  It’s going to be an awesome time of learning about Jesus and fun!

 

The VBS table now has MUSIC and DONATION needs!  Parents, please take EITHER a download card or a CD.  We would ask that you take only one at this point.  We may have extras to share in the end, but for now, please only take one.  Add your name to the list, so I know who has received their music.  I will have a tub located under the coat rack in the foyer for your donations.  If you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask!  THANK YOU for your generous support of VBS.

CAMP L.I.T.

Latest update on the total number of campers is: 14 girls, 30 boys and for coed camp, there are 15 total.  VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED!

Next mandatory training session is Saturday, April 26th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Faith Church (located at 1921 Barnes Rd., Manhattan)

As a volunteer, you must attend ONE of the mandatory training sessions.   To register for the training, please go to the Camp L.I.T. website – camplit.org.  In the middle of the home page, you will find the Volunteer Application.

Sunrise Easter Service and Shared Breakfast on April 20^th

Sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. followed by a shared breakfast. Church families are asked to bring casseroles, muffins, fruit, etc. to share following the Sunrise service. Regular service is at 9:30 a.m.

Men’s Breakfast

Rather than hosting a Men’s Breakfast at Alert in April, we are encouraging men and their sons to attend the Good Friday Men’s Breakfast in Clay Center at the Unted Methodist Church Life Center on Friday April 18^th at 6:30 a.m.

True North VBS is coming June 2-6th!  We would love to have you be a part of this amazing opportunity to reach the kids of our church and surrounding communities!  If you can help, please add your name to the volunteer sign-up sheet located on the welcome center in the foyer!  Thank you!

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED!

We are gearing up for the 2025 Camp L.I.T. season and we would love to have you join the family of volunteers!!  Camp L.I.T. is 100% free to all volunteers and campers.

As a volunteer, you must attend the mandatory training sessions.   To register for the training, please go to the Camp L.I.T. website – camplit.org.  In the middle of the home page, you will find the Volunteer Application.

Saturday, April 26th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Faith Church (located at 1921 Barnes Rd., Manhattan)

Besides our Coach and Support Staff volunteers, a Transportation Team has been added.  If you would like to be a part of the Transportation Team, you would not attend camp, but you still would need 2 hours of training. The training will be held on the same days as the mandatory volunteer training sessions.

Camp L.I.T. Camp Dates are:

Girls’ Camp – June 19 thru June 22  (Ages 12-15)

Boys’ Camp – July 10 thru July 13 (Ages 12-15)

COED Camp – July 24 thru July 27 (Ages 16-18)

The 2025 Alert Road Race will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025.  We will once again be seeking sponsors for the event to be featured on the back of the race shirts!  We hope to see you there, and please be in prayer for a safe and successful event!
