GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Julotta

Julotta is a Swedish tradition that has been a part of Alert’s history for many, many years. This tradition is our way of celebrating Christmas. This special service begins at 6:00 a.m. on Christmas morning and concludes with a light breakfast of donuts and sweet rolls from Tasty Pastry bakery. The Christmas service includes special music, singing of Christmas carols, a reading of the Christmas story, and a message or drama enactment. If you would like to bring a special music number, please contact Pastor Dwight and let him know. Thank you.

Short-term mission trip

We are planning a summer mission trip to Nicolas Romero with the Merge team. Tentative dates are July 29-August 5th. We will help the Covenant Church in Nicolas Romero with their Bible school. If you are interested in being a part of this team, please let pastor Dwight know of your interest.

Thank You

Thank you to everyone that provided cookies for the cookie plates, homeless shelter, and for refreshments today. Your time and effort is much appreciated.

Church in Ministry lists

The end of the year is FAST approaching, and I will begin working on the first quarter church in ministry lists. These lists include greeters, nursery, scripture reading and candlelighters (Kindergarteners thru 5th graders). All these parts are a vital part of keeping our church moving. If there is a list you would like to not be included on, please let me know.

Manhattan Emergency Shelter Needs

The following is a list of items that are currently in high demand at MES:

Bath towels, medicine, silverware, underwear, hair ties, trash bags, plungers, wallets, belts, ATA bus passes, gas cards, Ziploc bags, aluminum foil and sugar.

Please call the shelter for donation inquiries 785-537-3113.

Thank You

Dear Alert Church Family,

Thank you all so very much for how you’ve poured into our family over these last 5 months since Anna arrived.  From diapers to meals to clothes… prayers, hugs, and even holding a crying baby…every action and gift speaks love and we couldn’t be more grateful for the church family you are!  April, thank you for the beautiful prayer quilt…and thank you church family for the prayers.  We have felt and needed every one of them!  We know God has big plans for Anna! 🙂

We are especially thankful the colic season is over and that she is growing into a little smart happy smiley girl.  We have appreciated the support as we learn how to function as a family of 5 now!  We love you all. -Darren, Bethany, Henry, Levi & Anna Hofmann
