Alert Covenant Church! We are a family in Christ and because we serve several communities, we don’t always have the opportunity to get to know each family that we worship and serve with each week. So, we will be featuring profiles every couple of weeks in the bulletin so we can learn more about each other and put faces to names for those we haven’t gotten to know yet.

Clarion

Extra copies of the Clarion, publication of Covenant Cedars Bible Camp, are available on the Welcome Center. This issue contains a report from the summer camps and an article about their upcoming 70th anniversary celebration.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

SchoolaPalooza

For SchoolaPalooza this year, we are handing out bags of supplies at enrollment at the Middle School in Blue Valley on July 29th and 30th. We’d love a few volunteers to help each day. Please see the sign-up sheet that’s being passed around and sign up for a time.

Help needed this morning!

We need some people to help bag up school supplies for SchoolaPalooza in-between worship and Sunday School today. The more people we have, the less time it will take, so please join us in the Old Sanctuary and find Deb or Pastor Stephanie for directions on how to help.

Final Need

The mission team is needing 150 golf tees before they leave on Friday.  Please bring them to the church or get ahold of Rose if you can help out with this need.

Shoebox Need

Cole Peterson is helping prepare the fishing kits we will be sending in shoeboxes.  He is needing #9 fishing line, small bobbers and hooks.  Also, Sarah & Korah Wendland and Trinity Sugars with the help of Grandma April are preparing the sewing kits that will also be sent in shoeboxes.  How awesome is it that our youth are stepping up and taking on these helpful roles!

Leonardville Hullabaloo

Your help is needed to hand out water bottles at the Leonardville Hullabaloo parade on August 10th.  Parade begins at 3:30 with the lineup of the parade to begin at the corner of Erpelding and Elk Street.  Look for the pickup and trailer.

SCHOOLAPALOOZA

It’s SchoolaPalooza time! We won’t be doing the carnival this year but will be offering bags of supplies at the two enrollment times at the end of the month. Last year, we found the best deals for the following items in stores locally:

Elmer’s Bottle Glue, 4 oz. (less than $.70)

24 Count Crayola Crayons (less than $.75)

24 Count Colored Pencils (less than $3.50)

4 Pack of Expo dry erase markers (less than $3 each)

Please be on the lookout for great deals and let Pastor Stephanie know so she can get them purchased.

Ice Cream Social

It’s time for our annual ice cream social Saturday, July 20th! Sandwiches, homemade pies and cakes, plus the best homemade chocolate, strawberry, peach, chocolate chip and vanilla ice cream galore. This year we will feature Lenay Marteney at 7pm. Lenay is the Worship and Creative Arts Director at Westview Community Church in Manhattan. She loves to tell a story through music and testimony. Her blend of classic country, gospel, and contemporary Christian music is popular with crowds everywhere

Help Needed

Your help with the preparations for our annual Ice Cream Social are greatly appreciated. Please consider looking over the list of tasks and sign up and take the corresponding note as a reminder. You can find the list of tasks on the Welcome Center. Also, we will have a work night on Friday night to make ice cream, sandwiches and do some light yard work.

Shoebox Need

Please look for erasers and pencil sharpeners for shoe boxes. We are always short on those when packing. It is also a struggle to get shoe boxes for older children. This year we are going to make fishing kits and sewing kits to help meet this need. If you have needles, pins, small sewing scissors, thread, buttons, hooks, snaps, thimbles material, fishing line, small bobbers, corks, or fishing hooks. Please bring those in and we will have some work times to assemble them in the future. Also, please be praying for recipients of the boxes and Samaritans’ Purse as they help so-o-o many natural disaster victims this year on top of shoe boxes.
