Annual Hayride

The Christian Ed Board invites everyone to join us for a hayride after Sunday School on October 20^th. We will provide table service, drinks, hotdogs, & s’mores.  Please bring a side to share.

New Sunday School Class

Today, we are beginning a new adult Sunday School class with special guest Patty Thompson, the Director of Prayer and Leadership Mobilization with the Midwest Covenant Conference. She will walk us through “listening prayer” as a launch to our new class on Praying the Psalms with Pastor Stephanie. Please join us in the old sanctuary at 11am.

Shoeboxes/Victory Village

Let Rose or Randi know if you want a girl to bless at Victory Village for Christmas and pray for and encourage through the rest of the school year.  For shoeboxes this year, we will have two packing times and will do different age groups each time.  Save the dates:  October 27^th and November 10^th we will have a meal and then pack.  It is so much fun so please think about joining us!  We can still use some fishing hooks, weights, bobbers, tools, mirror compacts, Chapstick and bars of Ivory soap.  If you prefer to make a monetary donation, please give it to Rose or April or designate it in the offering plate. 

Are you missing something?

A variety of items (dishes) plus two ice chests have been placed on the table located in the old sanctuary.  Some items are from the July ice cream social event.  Please take time to check out the table of goodies and pick up yours.  After October 31, these items will be donated to either the church or the Salvation Army.  If you wish to donate your item to the church, please contact Karen Rundquist (karen.rundquist@gmail.com) so that she is aware of your intentions.  Thank you!

Life Chain Sunday

All are invited to attend the annual Life Chain in Clay Center which will be today.  Meeting first at the Baptist Church, 5^th & Dexter Streets (East Door) at 2:30 pm for a time of instructions and prayer.

We are needing washcloths, bobbers, fishhooks, sewing needles, fishing line and soccer balls for shoeboxes.  Be on the lookout for several packing dates!  Also, whoever would like to participate in gifts for teen girls at Victory Village this year, please visit with Rose or Randi.  We are going to do it a bit different this time around!

Special Offering

Covenant World Relief is working in partnership with Medical Teams International to serve the Syrian refugees. If you are led to give toward this ministry, please place your offering in the envelope provided. The teens who attended CHIC in 2018 chose this as a way to meet the needs of the refugee crisis.

Financial Wellness

Dan’s topic is called Financial Wellness and he will talk about how we each have different experiences that have shaped how we relate to money, and how being financially well impacts other areas of our lives.  We will also cover estate planning basics, investing basics, different ways to make gifts to ministries, and how Covenant Trust can help in those areas.

Covenant Women!

Clay Center Covenant Church is having a Women’s Night of Worship tomorrow night at 7pm. Pastor Stephanie is preaching and helping lead worship, so please come, rest, and enjoy the Lord with a time in the word, singing, and prayer.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

During the workshop, you will learn the 5 thresholds that are descriptive of the different stages a person goes through when coming to faith in Jesus. You will also see video testimonies of people in different thresholds and have the opportunity to work together to make a plan on how you would help this person move through their current threshold towards faith in Jesus. Lastly, you will have time to think about the folks in your lives, determining where they may be in their journey of faith and identifying a next step you can take. 

Family Movie Night

On September 22^nd at 4pm we arehosting a family movie night here at the church! Now showing:  MaryPoppins Returns. We’ll have a concession stand of goodies and even a time ofdiscussion. Join us for a time of laughter, good munchies, and a fun timetogether!

Attention parents!  We have 6 activity bags in the welcome center for children to use during church service.  They are filled with puzzles, coloring pages, toys, etc. Lots of things to keep them busy!  Help yourself whenever you are in need!

MomsCONNECT, a community outreach ministry for moms, is seeking childcare volunteers for the 2019-2020 school year. We meet one Tuesday a month and are completely dependent on volunteers to keep our ministry going. If you would be willing to help us for even one or two of the Tuesday meetings, we would be so thankful. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Sarah Cott (785) 447-2970.

*Jamie Ladipo is one of the missionaries that we support, and she is serving with Intervarsity. Jamie and her husband and their son live in Lawrence KS where she oversees staff who lead Intervarsity chapters on several campuses in KS. She also serves as associate director of evangelism. She will be sharing practical methods of personal evangelism.
