Men’s Encounter
Men’s Encounter is a time for us men to get away and encounter God, perhaps like never before; a time to consider, give thought to our lives, and discover solutions to the unique challenges facing men.
Who would you like to provide solutions for you? Who better than God?
It is important to take the time to step away and gain perspective. Whether you think you have it all figured out or not, you will benefit from attending and you will come home with no regrets. From the time you leave until the time you return, you will have nothing to worry about; all meals, transportation and lodging is included. January 31- February 2, 2019, with multiple launch points. Winter Get-Away 2019
Winter Get Away is for children 2nd-6th grade who can come together and connect with friends they made at Covenant Kids Camp this past summer while also worshiping, playing fun games and biblical learning. This year’s winter get away will be February 23 at Countryside Covenant Church in McPherson, KS. If your child is interested, please visit with Pastor Dwight. Registration is due by February 17th.
On each Tuesday from 6:30-8:15 please join us for a time of sharing, praying and interacting with God’s word. We have a fellowship time (usually with a snack) and share life and prayer requests and then pray together. After that we read and discuss a passage of scripture that we have all written (or realistically all attempted to write) in our journals. We have been amazed at how this writing, meditating and discussing the passages really helps us learn God’s word. Absolutely come as you are. We really want to have a place to be ourselves and grow in friendship with each other and with God. There is always room at our table. We will be discussing Acts 10:1-23a at our study on January 22. I have found using a notebook or journal write only on the left side and number the verses. Some ladies even do words of Christ in red! Then as we discuss you can use the right side for notes or doodles.
COMING IN FEBRUARY
The Art of Parenting
The Art of Parenting, an 8 session video based study for parents that equip them to “aim your child’s heart toward God” with intentional, biblical teaching and Christ centered plans. Based on Psalm 127:4, the eight sessions feature scenes from Family Life’s feature film “Like Arrows”, plus interviews with parenting experts and stories from parents who share their experience. This class will be offered as a Sunday School class beginning February 3. Please sign up at the welcome center if interested in attending so we can order workbooks. Laura Renfro will be facilitating the class.
Great marriages don’t just happen, they require hard work. The Art of Marriage is a six session video based series that is very practical and relevant to the marital challenges of today. We are offering this course February 17, 24, and March 3 following a lunch at noon. Please consider attending. Please sign up at the Welcome Kiosk so we can order enough workbooks for each couple. If you attended this course last Fall, you are welcome to attend again.
Early Worship
At the request of some of our men, once a month we will be offering a time of singing and prayer prior to the Worship service. We will begin on February 10th and meet at 9:15 a.m. in the Youth Room and use videos to accompany our singing. All are welcome to join us.
